Introducing ...

Name: Laccindy Teptit
Story: The Rogue King
Status: Roguess

Being a Secondary Character and very much involved with the Main Characters lives, Laccindy went through a number of changes from the old version right alongside them.
Originally, she was the second little girl to enter Koral's - my first Main Character's - life then, during the rewrite from a first person point of view to the third person PoV I'm now totally comfortable with, she became the first.
And then she became the second again as I expanded on his time as a child and introduced him to little Hia. It was during the time of the first rewrite that Laccindy also became older, by about five years, which changed the relationship she had with my other Main Character.
Got to love the snowball effect.
While re-plotting for the Godless series - leading me to ask myself various questions about a completely different character - the final piece of her background clicked into place, bringing me to what will be another story for me to write (a short one, I hope).

This isn't quite how I imagine her, but it comes as about as close as I can manage. It really is a killer trying to get yellow hair to look good.

The Dark One's Sequel

Dark One's Wife has reached 20,000 words! Yeah! Everybody, do the 20k dance with me!

This milestone is awesome in more ways than one, seeing that it hasn't reached seven chapters yet and I've still five chapters to plot, not to mention the other twelve I've got plotted but are waiting for me to write. I've never written so much in one point of view before. Ever. The first story of the pair, Dark One's Mistress, ended up at 72k. Not sure what I'll end up with after the editor's been through it, but I aim for a similar word count for the sequel.
I'm not certain what is with these characters, but there seems to be something about them that makes me want to torment them ... in the nicest possible way, you understand.

*insert your favourite evil laughter here*

In retaliation, it seems some of the minor characters are getting good at throwing me a few curve balls. I've no idea what sort of mischief one is going to blind-side me with in the next chapter, or the one after. I've a love/hate thing going on towards having no idea how they're going to react.

But it's always fun finding out.

Introducing ...

Name: Hazyn Heartwood
Story: Aelfah
Status: Son to the Mark

Good grief, boy. Fix your hair in the presence of strangers. It's all messy and untied and stuff. How scandalous are you trying to be?
*ahem*
Being the Mark's son, but not the heir means Hazyn is free to possess a lot of the things his brother is looking for in life. Simple things, like a wife he's picked, children and, above all, next to no mighty expectations of him.
Of course, Hazzy can't help teasing his brother on some points, especially on how he's the first with kids (although I'm not sure if his brother realised it was a contest). Ah, but good-natured teasing is what family's for. Besides, Hazzy-boy helps when the need is great and that totally counts, right?

I do love this image, but I see so many things I could do better now I know a little more. Isn't that always the way?

Introducing ...

Name: Leon Teptit
Story: The Rogue King
Status: Merchant

Being the father of my Secondary Character, Laccindy Teptit, Leon actually appeared in the original version of The Rogue King where his daughter was stolen from him. I would say kidnapped, but really, he was there. Held for ransom probably comes closer. Either way, this portion of the tale was wiped when I rewrote the story in third person and made Laccindy older. But since I've turned a single novel into a saga, he made a (brief) appearance in a new chapter.
No doubt his name will pop up again when I finally write his daughter's novella (at least, I hope it'll be a short enough, curse you brain, stop thinking up new storylines long enough for me to write the older ones down).

Did I mention he was dead in that appearance? He was always dead, or dying, no matter the version. So yeah, I killed Laccindy's daddy. Technically, some men did, but I let them.
Sometimes, being evil is fun. ^_^

Introducing ...

Name: Lord Thad
Story: Dark One’s Mistress
Status: Endlight Heir

Hmm ... blondish, green-eyed and with a smile to die for.
No, he's not the Main Character's love interest. He's not even a rival, even if my not-bad-bad-guy tends to act like it. Thad is the pseudo brother to Lucias and, like all brother's, loves to tease him (just a little bit, you know how brothers can be ^_^). And he's happily married, thank you very much, and with kid number three on the way.
Although, there is a not-so-nice side to him. Just how not-nice? You'll have to wait for the sequel.

I do like this image. Maybe not the wall, but the rest I find gorgeous. And, oh look, there's a spare seat ...
