Follow Fest

It's time for Melissa Maygrove's follow fest.

Name: Aldrea Alien ... No, it's not my real name. My real name is common as muck. Hence, Aldrea Alien.

Fiction or nonfiction? Reading? Fiction. Always fiction. Unless it's anything about Ancient Egypt, then I'm all ears ... or eyes, as the case may be.

What genres do you write? Hmm ... Fantasy, Science Fiction, Paranormal and Semi-Historical ... all with at least a touch of Romance.
Not all in the one book, mind you, although ... if anyone knows of a good story like that, hook me up with the title.

Are you published? Let's go with not yet, but very soon as I've a contract at both Astraea Press and Museitup Publishing in addition to the self-publishing adventure I'm on.

Do you do anything in addition to writing? Nothing professional. I do marginally good images via 3D rendering programs, mostly just for myself, but I've done the odd commission before.

Where can people connect with you? Well, obviously here at my blog. There's some links to the side where you can follow me via google+, bloglovin', email, GFC ... pick your poison there. I tend to use bloglovin' for following.
In addition to here, I'm on Twitter (that's @AldreaAlien), Goodreads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and I have a Facebook page. I spend most of my online time with DeviantArt on in the background.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know? Let's see ... feel free to ask me to host cover reveals. I'm always willing. Same for releases.

My first two WIPs (a duet) has everything but fantasy. But those were the books I cut my fiction writer's teeth on. They may never see the light of day. LOL

Thanks for participating in Follow Fest! :)

    1. Reminds me of my second attempt. But it's nothing a major rewrite won't fix.

    2. As Melissa's CP, I can assure you they'll see the light of day--even if I have to go dig them out of her desk myself! ;)

      Thanks for participating, Aldrea!

  3. Nice to meet you Aldrea! L.A. Banks has paranormal books that are rich in history with vampires that neither 'foof' in the sun or sparkle. :-) Check out her Vampire Huntress Legend series.

    1. You'd be amazed how many vampire books I haven't read, having written one and all ... But hey, I like Anne Rice, so I must check out this L. A. Banks.

  10. Nice to meet you! Have you read OUTLANDER by Diana Gabaldon? It's a mash-up of pretty much everything, with a side of awesome.

Congrats on your contracts as well--very exciting news!

    1. I have. But I'm on the fence about whether I want to read it. Maybe if I found a cheap copy ... but if, I'm honest, seeing "gets beaten by guy she's screwing" in any review let alone several (even the 4 star ones) doesn't really draw me in despite ticking so many other boxes.

  11. Sorry if this comment comes out twice, seems I had trouble posting it the first time cause I don't see it... Ok, here goes... round two! :D

Sounds like you have amazing projects in the works. If you like Ancient Egypt, you may want to check out Shiri by DS Talyor. I featured him on my blog recently and though I have not read the book yet, (my copy should be on its way soon) it does have great reviews on gr at the moment. All the best with your current books and I like your pen name. Mine hasn’t grown on me yet. (:

    1. I've only one I consider Sci-Fi, the others are straight Fantasy or seguing into Science Fantasy.
      That must qualify, yeah? ^_^

    1. Awesome! Off I go to check it out.

Let's see ... cover looks steampunk-ish. Oh that's because it -is- steampunk. Makes sense. I've never actually read anything steampunk, although I believe I may enjoy the genre.

Ta for the recommendation, Her Grace, now I -must- know if the enemy has treacle tart. ^_^
